The aerial hoop is an aerial apparatus that benefits from back and leg flexibility. Loads of the movements are based on back-bendy and straight-legged shapes. So we will explore some of them and try a little flow! The class will start with some nice stretching.
Prerequisite: Close to having splits (the hip a hand-distance from the ground is okay), being able to do a normal back-bending bridge.
No previous experience on the hoop is required.
Zenbari is a rope-tying partner practice using only one rope. It’s a highly unconventional way of tying using only a few knots and focusing on nuanced soft skills - eye contact, touch, and dramaturgy.
Very few knots will be taught; this class is all about the human, energetic, and psychological art of tying. Fitting for absolute beginners as well as intermediate Shibari riggers. Even if you have two left hands, you are welcome to join.
You find pictures and more explanations at: https://zenbari.co/
We will focus on the practice’s therapeutic, artistic, and nurturing qualities. It can be sensual if you like, but explicitly won’t be sexual.
You will learn about
- dynamics of leadership and surrender, holding space and being held
- how the intention of touch makes all the difference
- the psychology of tying -> moving bodies, creating different emotions
Ideally, come with a partner. This should be someone you would feel comfortable dancing with or cuddling; this can also be a friend of the same gender.
Otherwise, please be at the workshop 5 minutes early to look out for a partner.
Developed by Berlin-born artist Satura May, this non-verbal conversation is a practice to explore trust, movement, and human dynamics. Tying since 2019, her performances cover a wide range of emotions and surprise onlookers with fast tying and dynamic movements. Her teaching is known to be structured and nuanced, including retreats, regular classes, and festivals in Portugal, Germany, and Mexico.
Welcoming all genders, nationalities, and the queer community.
Additional explanations in German are possible / Die Übersetzung ins Deutsche ist hin und wieder möglich.
