I’m Ellie and I’m a BA student at The National Centre for Circus Arts in London. My main disciplines are aerial hoop and hula hoop but I love acro too!

Aerial hoop - bendy shapes and sequences

In this workshop I’ll cover 4 or 5 different split shapes on the hoop ending with a sequence of all shapes together.
I’ll start with a 15 minute warmup/ aerial conditioning routine then spend about an hour going through the shapes. And finish with going through the full sequence.

Aerial hoop - dynamics and transitions

In this workshop I’ll go through a few intermediate dynamic moves like mill wheels, skinners, straight tombé and the first steps towards a back pop-on.
I’ll begin with a 15 minutes warm up/ conditioning routine and then begin teaching each move. In the last 20 minutes I’ll show a full sequence using all the moves I’ve shown in class and then encourage the attendees to try the sequence.

Aerial Hoop - Bendy shapes and sequences

In this workshop I’ll be exploring 4 or 5 different shapes that I will work into a short sequence at the end.
This will be a tailored to a beginner level so will include shapes like: mermaid and mermaid split, Amazon and Amazon split and Delilah. A level of strength and flexibility will be helpful for this class but not necessary therefore no prereqs for this class.
I will begin with a 15 minute warm up/ aerial conditioning routine (which will include things like shoulder shrugs, leg lifts, pull ups from bent arms and sitting on the hoop, etc. I’ll then spend 50 minutes to an hour explaining each shape including safe and easy ways into the shape and for more those who are more advanced I can provide more creative ways in and out of the positions.
In the last 20 minutes to half an hour I will show all the positions in a sequence and get the attendees to try as much of the sequence as they can.

Body hooping

In this workshop I’ll go over the basics of waist hooping and move on to chest hooping and knee hooping including different ways to transition between. I’ll also invite those with these skills already to come as the same tricks can be done but with more hoops on the body. I’ll begin with a 10 minute warm up and start with explaining different places we can hoop on the body. This will be more of a jam like feel as if like to have people of varying levels.

Hula hoops - foot hooping

The first half of this workshop will go over foot hooping basics and techniques. Foot hooping from laying, standing, and different planes you can foot hoop. In the second half of this workshop, we will go over more advanced tricks and transitions in and out of foot hooping. fun shapes and tricks from foot hooping like splits, bridge, and shoulder stands while foot hooping.
I’ll begin with a 10 minute warm up then begin the workshop. I’ll leave the last 15 minutes for people to explore what we’ve learnt and also encourage people to explore ways of foot hoop while doing their favourite acro moves.
