Katya Stern

I am an autodidactic aerialist, dancer and fire performer from Germany with about twenty years of experience with flexibility training and dance and approximately 13 years of experience in aerial arts, such as hoop, trapeze and chains. During this time I have committed many mistakes and learned a lot from them. My search has always been towards safe and sustainable physical capacities. I want to continue using my vehicle as a super power for as long as I am blessed with it and am willing to share treasures I found along the so far way.

Let´s work your splits! This workshop is for everyone who is willing to work (hard) to deepen and strengthen their splits. I will guide you through a strengthening warm up, some stretching exercises and a cool down conditioning. The workshop will be a (hopefully) daily space for 6 days to gather, motivate each other and maybe reach a little deeper into your splits when leaving the festival. You will learn effective exercises to strengthen and open what you need to get strong and safe active splits. Some of the exercises will be repeated daily, others will vary. I am at your service to check postures and technique, maybe to poke you here and there (if you are ok with that) and introduce you to muscles you might not have been aware of yet ;-)

How about really feel like flying?! We will swing, spin and work on different dynamic tricks like swinging through the hoop, flares, dropping to and swinging in knee hang and some more.
