Workshops
We will teach you amazing technique to have a clean and safe camel throw to handstand on shoulder.
As we work same size, we have developed a great understanding of technique, precision and drills, we welcome everyone to join as we are confident we can help improve your technique so you can fly & base it with anyone (soon).
We open this same-size friendly workshop for beginners who want to get into standing acrobatics and learn a nice cute standing flow with some basic moves. Also welcoming people with more experience who are interested to start changing their usual role base/flyer and work with same size people.
We will teach an intermediate L-Base flow including some basics static, pops & icarians and a few optional challenging transitions. We will include in the class an introduction to european chairs which have been a fantastic tool for our pop & icarians game working same size.
This flow is built so everyone can both base&fly if they want, aiming to be inclusive of same-similar size. We will sharing lots to be very precise and technical, which has enable us work well same size and is beneficial for all size combination.
You can come with a partner or find one at the beginning of the class.
In this workshop, we open the space also for a collective discussion on shared responsibility to support consent culture in our communities and facilitate accountability and repair with a restorative approach.
I will share with the group some tools, frameworks and procedures that I have had a chance to use and found transformative & impactful, during my work supporting consent incident resolution & mediation in different festival, burn events and communities.
These are rooted in restorative justice, fostering empathy, repair and inclusion as much as possible.
We will take some time in collective intelligence to use these tools and try and "resolve" examples of consent incident cases, exploring how they can help us to build better, clearer and more structured processes to support all parties and the collective.
I hope we can together develop support and ressources dedicated to support the acro community, which foster more consent & care culture.
Depending on the time & interest, I would love to open a discussion power dynamics at play in acro communities and how to hold safer spaces being mindful of how they affect them.
If you are interested about consent in your community (acro or not), please join, and if you have frameworks and processes to share with the group I'd be interested you share them with the group as well.
