Rachel
Hello :-)
I am a yoga trainer with international teaching experience who discovered acroyoga in 2023 and was instantly obsessed with its playfulness, connection and supportive community.
I have assisted and co-taught at acro festival and events, where I enjoy sharing my love for dynamic work and icarians :-)
Workshops
Join us to learn some fun (and possibly easier...) variations of the "Cascade" Icarian Pop (American Chair to Reverse Star).
We will have different starting postions:
- Cascade from Straddle Throne
- Cascade from Foot-to-Hamstring
These cascades can help you building up the confidence to approach more complex "plunges" 😉
Flyers: Please, do not wear earrings, necklaces, or big facial piercing! (This is a general advice for acro or icarians,.. but it's particulary important for Cascades! )
We will progress from regular Reverse Handspring (Pop from Star to Reverse American Chair) to Reverse Handspring from Handsfree Star.
There will be 3 variations of increasing difficulty
Pre-Reqs:
- Experience with Icarians
- Feeling comfortable with handsfree star (for the last part of the workshop). Some tips will be given for participants who are still struggling with this skill.
This is a relaxed, playful workshop in which we will explore different acro poses with at least 3 participants: a "base", a "mid", and a "flyer".
There will also be figures with more bases or more than one mid or flyer, suitable for groups of 4, 5, or 6 persons, depending on the level and the number of participants.
We will have easier options for people with little experience and more complex variations for those with more experience ;-)
During this workshop the flyer will either start or land into "Maria" (Shin-to-Foot).
We will identify the peculiarities of this position and understand how to change a connection that usually feels "shaky" into a solid starting/landing position for icarians 🦵🦵
Join us to learn some slightly more challenging variations of the "Cascade" Icarian Pop.
We will have different starting postions:
- Foot-to-Shin (the flyer stands on the shins of the base)
- Shin-to-Foot (aka "Maria": the base holds the shins of the flyer with their feet)
And we will land in Reverse Star, obviously with suitable progressions and steps! ;-)
Flyers: Please, do not wear earrings, necklaces, or big facial piercing! (This is a general advice for acro or icarians,.. but it's particulary important for Cascades! )
Check the prereqs, please!
Additional tip: It´s recommended to have already tried some other Cascade (or mini Cascade) variations
